Hice este dibujo apenas me enteré que Jess Franco (uno de los más grandes, prolíficos e inclasificables directores del cine español y serie B) había fallecido, pensando en el posible (re)encuentro en los infiernos, con la que fuera su esposa (que falleció hace muy poco, antes que él): la brutal, icónica y bellísima actriz Lina Romay.
Un boceto a mano alzada que acabó reproduciéndose al día siguiente en un periódico español que lo utilizó como soporte para salpicarlo con algunos de sus films más recordados.
Jesús Franco "Jess" falleció justo después que el otro Jesús -el hijo de Dios- resucitara y se fuera caminando a los cielos al acabar esta semana de pascua... Toda una alegoría de las disímiles maneras de vivir una vida.

I made this drawing, scarcely I knew of that Jess Franco (one of the biggest, prolific & unclassifiable Spanish bizarre cinema's director) he had died, thinking about the possible re-encounter in hell, with that it was your wife, the brutal, iconic and beautiful actress Lina Romay (who died before him). A freehand sketch that ended up by being reproduced on the following day in a Spanish newspaper that used it as a support to drizzle it with some of his most remembered films.
Jesús Franco "Jess" died just after the other Jesus -the son of God- was resurrected and was walking into heaven at the end of this week of Easter... All an allegory of the disparate ways of living a life.
